When learning machining on mills and lathes I was taught “trust your machine” that is once it’s dialed in you don’t need to measure every time. Welcome to the #baileigharmy @alabamawoodworker ----- I suspect that getting a specialized tool such as a hollow chisel mortiser makes a statement as to the specific path a woodworker intends to take. I see myself using lots of mortise and tenons. While there are lots of ways to cut M&Ts, there is an absolute joy to plunging a hollow chisel bit..the feel and even the smell of the smoking chips that fly from the top of the bit. And then there's the look of exposed joinery that is just captivating. While I love using hand tools to machine my M&Ts, I knew I'd want a mortiser after my first time using one. I'm very Blessed to have the means and space to afford such a tool. Thank you @baileigh_industrial for a great deal on what looks to be a solidly built tool.
