like veganism and atheism both exist as the english-speaking white center-left’s moral pet projects, and the degree to which they will absolutely refuse to acknowledge the virulent strain of racism running through these subcultures drives me up the fucking wall. the parallels between moral imperativism vegans saying it’s inherently immoral to kill an animal for any reason, and anti-religion atheists saying it’s inherently immoral to teach a child religious practices for any reason... the way these movements both have incredible PR, generally by the same center-left outlets and figures, because of how attractive these moral frameworks are to other white people...
