Character Sheet
Another medium-length post!
Name: Xoknath
Race: Orc
Class: Barbarian
Gender: M
Age: 32
Role: Either Boss Fight or Party Member depending on player/reader input
Starting equipment: Spirit Crystal Hand Axe (x2) (+3 to Strike, +2 Burn damage on successful hit, allows usage of Energy spells), Bone-studded Pelts (+2 Armor), Water Bottle
Ideals/Wants: Values safety and comfort, and wants it for as many people as possible. In particular, wants to keep his tribe and family safe from outside danger.
Defining trait(s): Does not take threats towards him very seriously, but threats towards others are quite scary to him. Holds undying loyalty to his queen. Known for lecturing teammates who step out of line, especially in terms of avoiding murder whenever possible.
Biggest flaw(s): Overly vocal about negative opinions, and judgmental towards basically everyone. Loud and intimidating even when he doesn’t want to be. Supports a system where the same few oligarchs can rule for eternity, which is even worse than for just one generation.
Bio: Xoknath lives in the monsterfolk tribe Alexis struggled with in her backstory, and for his cut of the food, works as a lower-rank member of the tribe’s Border Guard.
Unlike other members of the Guard, Xoknath was a naturally-born beastfolk, rather than someone who had once lived as a human or hominid. Xoknath was taught how to cut wood by his father and how to create tools by his mother. He tended to prefer toolmaking for most of his childhood until he learned of the queen’s Border Guard, and idolized them as some sort of hero group which kept all monsters safe from the neighboring humans. He then turned to woodcutting to get his practice in, so he could join the Guard and continue their legacy. Eventually, he did, despite his parents’ worries.
During his childhood, his best friend was Yorera, a harpy he met during a communal meal. While he was a craftsman and an introvert, she was a storyteller and an extrovert. What started as small favors, trading small homemade trinkets for story requests, grew into two-person stage plays, with Yorera writing the scripts and Xoknath making the props. Later, when the time came for each of them to pick a spouse, neither of them saw any better option than each other. They had a son, Maltuu, who is roughly 11 years old when the game’s story starts.
Xoknath was actually part of the Border Guard during Alexis’s backstory, but was off of his shift at the time and was unable to make it to the fight before it resolved. He knows who Alexis is, and resents her to this day.
Fun fact(s): He knows three languages: Common (English in this setting), Monsterfolk Pidgin, and Hog. Also, much like how real-life pigs will grow tusks when released from captivity, orcs will grow tusks when made to fight often. He has tusks while his son and his parents do not.
