So I’m starting a ‘series’ of Throwback Thursday posts that will be posted on, you guessed it, Thursday.
I went on a 2 and a half month trip to Europe last year (which I started this blog to write about) and I’d like to share it! And also have some decent thoughts after the fact.
We arrived in Imst, Austria following the 42 degree heat of Venice. While I absolutely loved Venice, Austria was cool and we even witnessed a thunderstorm which was magnificent. We wanted to visit this particular spot as my partner had seen an ‘alpine coaster’ and decided it was a MUST DO.
The alpine coaster was a lot of fun. We went up into Hoch Imst (or high Imst) where it poured down on us like crazy. After sheltering for some hot chocolate we made it up the mountain on the longest chair lift I’ve ever been on. This place was spectacular, the views were immense.
I mean, I come from New Zealand. To be quite honest, I’ve been surrounded by spectacular views my entire life. This, was different. Truly took my breath away.
Then the alpine coaster took my breath away in a whole ‘nother way. It was fast and fun, speeding down the mountain with as little and as much braking as you wanted (I opted for as little).
I highly recommend making this trip. Hoch Imst, it will make it’s impression on you. I, for one, cannot wait to make my way back here.
