still thinking about how the new trilogy could have been about showing us that there is no dark side or light side, that the force is simply a tool and has been manipulated into being seen as two different versions through centuries of petty wars between the “good” and the “bad” when in actuality the powers of the sith are the same as the jedi but where the sith kill the jedi do not. a jedi could use force choke on droids and it would not be the use of “dark side”. a jedi could manipulate lightning a-la rey episode 9 but it could be to generate electricity for a shelter.
it could have showed us that fearing a tool makes you become what you fear, luke would never have attacked his nephew but if he feared the the force so deeply that he feared the end of the new jedi? makes sense. but even better would be rey, someone with no knowledge of jedi history or lore, coming to tell him he was indeed wrong because the force doesn’t have morals only the people who wield it do and even then yoda burning the sacred texts makes so much sense as well, telling luke to forget the past and move forward in a world to unite light and dark and bring a new balance to the force as anakin did.
with the kyber crystal lore showing us dozens of colors it would mean red has just become a symbol of the sith but in actuality its just another facet of the jedi who wields it. red synthetic crystals typically mean a force user who prefers offensive tactics while green and blue are used to represent those who are more physical or spiritual, respectively. jedi’s could in theory wield a red saber and it would not mean they are on the path to the “dark side” because the crystal is a reflection of the wielder.
