Personality Tests...
Inspired by a mention of the BM Personality test in the #psych tumblr feed earlier, I thought I'd give it another whirl... been a few years since I last did one, and a lot has changed in my life (Went from full-time work to full-time Uni, currently in my 2nd year of Uni, various other stuff).
I can't remember the exact score weights I got last time, but the result still seems to be the same - INTJ. Hmm, interesting. It would certainly gel with a lot of how I view myself, that's for sure.
I've always been a little fascinated by personality tests, often viewing them as either possibly insightful or something akin to horrorscopes (Deliberate mispell thar) insofar as they are more "broad reaching" statements than meant to be individual specific.
And now back to work I go, /sigh
Essay done, at last
Finally finished my Psych: Community & Culture essay (Well, the first one for the unit... sigh...). Had the interesting topic of arguing whether or not there is validity in claiming a difference in intelligence according to "race" (i.e. that incorrectly-used term that refers more to culture than any major biological difference. Last time I checked, we was ALL Homo Sapiens).
What surprised me more was the fact that I was able to find recent articles still arguing that White > Black... and they weren't by an American either. I know quite a few good Americans, but I swear you also got the largest concentration of redneck fuckstains on the planet too. Sadly, us Aussie's got a too-large population of them too :(
Was interesting to write, especially as I had to write it according to academic evidence (Naturally) and not let my own strong opinion on the topic bleed through. Thankfully, plenty of articles to be found countering such idiotic thoughts.
Conclusion: IQ tests don't necessarily test intelligence, depending on the type of test and how culturally-specific it is. This surprised me more than I thought it would, but also made a lot of sense.
