Sallow Family Name
i always thought that Anne and Sebastian's last name was 'Sallow' in order to foreshadow her curse and inevitable death.
(sallow) - (of a person's face or complexion) of an unhealthy yellow or pale brown color
but while reading about wand woods, i learned that 'sallow' is another name for 'willow' trees.
according to Ollivander, "willow is an uncommon wand wood with healing power"
willow trees are also associated with grief and mourning, but also immortality and rebirth. this combination leads them to symbolize "the endurance of love and family, despite death"
the Sallows are a family plagued by death, love, and grief. the twins' parents die young. Sebastian loves his sister fiercely and keeps his parents' memory alive. despite his parents' deaths and his sister's terminal condition, he allows his love to fuel his actions (however misguided they may be)
