Process PLC Programmer
Responsibilities
Develop and integrate PLC programs to control automation equipment including PSHR, and Health & Safety regulations for motion control standards
Utilize and collaborate with Electrical Designer(s) in development of machine electrical/electronic control systems
Design and maintain electrical schematics, safety circuits and logic diagrams as per designated electrical codes and interface to machine designs as required
Design, wire, and program; to prepare for the addition of new equipment or tooling ensuring full compliance to electrical and safety codes
Troubleshoot, modify and or write PLC programs on production or testing equipment
Support Continuous Improvement functions by assisting in troubleshooting and machine diagnostics to determine root cause and effective corrective actions
Support machine commissioning activity
Provide leadership and guidance to other maintenance team members on robot functionality and best practice
Document lessons learned upon successful resolution of downtime recovery event
Qualifications
Degree/diploma in electrical/electronic engineering
Five years automation / assembly equipment experience
Knowledge of IEC-1131-3 PLC & Motion Control Programming
Able to create/modify function blocks, ladder logic, sequencers, structured text and programs from scratch
Programing experience of Fanuc robots and Mitsubishi PLC
Knowledge of basic machine design practices, sound electrical principles and basic statistics
PLAN / CAD drawing software experience

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
To observe all safety rules/regulations and perform duties in a safe and efficient manner. Adheres to all safety guidelines, must take active role in promoting a safe work place. You have to perform your duties safely with minimal supervision. Actively participate in all safety programs including, Energy Isolation and 6S.
Execute all Preventative Maintenance work orders.
Follow up on all PM work and assess the effectiveness of the PM.
Follow weekly and bi-monthly maintenance checklist/log for all machines.
Maintenance and troubleshooting of all production equipment, coordinate and assist outside contractors in repairing and maintaining other auxiliary and plant equipment i.e. electro-treat, grinders, compressor, chiller, dryers.
Discuss machine issues / problems with Machine operators and Maintenance Supervisor.
Maintain accurate log of maintenance for each machine.
SECONDARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Requires being familiar with spare parts.
Recommend alternative parts to improve reoccurring problems.
Review together with the Maintenance Manager all spare parts usage and contribute in managing the spare parts inventory.
To provide routine maintenance and inspection of boiler, chiller, tower water, HP and LP compressors and other associated auxiliary equipment.
Ensure compliance with TSSA, MOL and Ministry of Environment agencies.
Perform regular maintenance on various areas within the building.
Keep assigned work area clean, neat, organized and free from safety hazards.
Flexible to work with all departments, ( Deco, Extrusion Blow Mold and Injection Stretch Blow Mold),
All other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualification:
442A Industrial Ticket
College diploma in electrical and/or electronic area of study
Able to read and write English preferred. Must have strong verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate to all levels. Must be a self-starting, inwardly motivated and proactive individual. Needs to be able to work productively with a minimum amount of supervision and follow up.
This position requires good visual acuity and some lifting, stooping, and bending. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds, frequently to check in and put away inventory and supplies.
Must have the ability to handle stress and the pressures of multiple tasks, demanding schedules and deadlines, diverse personalities, and daily conflicts. Conflict resolution skills are vitally important

Hands-on experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical theory
Basic machine shop skills (i.e. lathes, grinders, welding and milling machines)
Ability to use programming devices for troubleshooting and modification of programs
Ability to perform basic wiring work, conduit bending and control cabinet wiring
Ability to identify causes of problems, troubleshoot and develops methods to correct these problems permanently

Responsibilities:
Troubleshoots and maintains production equipment, which includes electrical, hydraulic, mechanic, and pneumatic systems. Works from wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and equipment specifications
Repairs and replaces electric and electronic components such as motors, contactors, relays, timers, and kind of switches, PLC’s, light curtains, motor controls, etc. Make calculations for load requirements for circuits and chooses the appropriate size and grade components
Runs new power supply lines to new and relocated equipment according to Hydro codes and other applicable standards and regulations. Works to IEE wiring regulations, Electrical Safety Code and company codes
Wires new control panels according to drawings, and verbal instructions under consideration of Hydro Codes and other applicable standards, and regulations.
Locates and diagnoses faults on electrical equipment or systems which may involve complex interlocking or interrelated circuits
Informs supervisors about changes in electric circuits or updates the original diagrams.
Maintains and adjusts electrical supply and production equipment to maximize operating performance. Helps to maintain electrical spare part inventory levels in the tool crib
Maintains work order and preventive/predictive maintenance system by filling in the required forms
Read and write electrical and electronic schematics as well as read basic hydraulic and pneumatic circuits
Install, examine, replace and repair electronic wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, cable assemblies, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components
Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance
Follow all safety rules inside the plant and occupational health and safety act
