Wake up, don’t panic | Jacket & Haruhi
Jacket didn't think much of waking in a place stranger than his wildest dreams, feeling strangely weakened and exposed, but he knew he had some purpose or objective, or at worst, a path to follow. Whether that involved talking, killing, or sneaking, he did not care, neither did he care about why he was there—he was a soldier, not a philosopher. But he was glad that he got to keep both Tony and Richard, which were not a devil and an angel on his shoulders, but rather, two devils in the form of masks he wore. Thereupon he set for himself the task to get familiarized with the place, know what kind of allies and enemies he could find, and how painful and quick his death would be, if it ever came to that.
Stepping out from the room he had awoken in, Jacket was greeted with quite the sight. It looked, and smelled, just like the sewers. He wasn't a stranger to filthy places himself actually, he never did clean his apartment very well when he lived by himself. But a problem he did have is that it didn't seem like he’d get to see much of where he was from down here, so he promptly began looking for a way out of these sewers. After some wandering he found a ladder leading upwards out of the sewers and started to climb. It was a surprisingly short ladder, only taking a few seconds to reach the top and push open the sewer grate that lead to the upper district.
Lifting himself from the grate and standing back up on his feet, Jacket surveyed the area he was in. Buildings higher than even the ones in Miami, zigzagging streets as far as he could see. He’d seen some places in his time, but nothing like this-- not that that mattered to him, though. He only took a few seconds to observe his surroundings before continuing on. Realizing that he did not have his mask on, he pulled out Richard from his coat and pulled it on over his face.Even though he was not on a mission he still felt as if it was safer to wear the mask in this unknown area. He also checked to see if his tape recorder was where he left it, pulling it out and examining it. After confirming he had all his possessions he proceeded. His first objective was to find someone and ask them what they knew about what was happening in this city, to try and get more of an idea of what state his surroundings were in. Although there were multiple people closer to him that he could question, a certain girl caught his eye. There wasn't much that stood out about her, but he was interested nonetheless. He briskly walked up to the girl and withdrew his tape recorder, holding it up and pressing down the play button to allow a simple question to be released,
“Excuse me, do you know where the restroom is?”
