A revival, of sorts.
Rejoice! For you have heard the words of ...Â
Wait a moment, I'm not going through a delusion of grandeur. But I have good news to announce. For those of you reading this, anyway, as a source of entertainment is once again being revived. I have chosen to become an English teacher - or rather, it chose me. My resume has never looked worse. My social status, upon returning to America, has plummeted. Instead of begging some former sorority-girl turned Temp Recruiter for a $11/hr job, I am instead taking fate into my own hands. So why China and not Korea, or Japan? My few days in Korea showed me that the society rewards being Korean; indeed, they indulge in themselves. This is a good thing! Live life. Viva' something. Japan offers a rewarding society, but there is no way to ascend from outsiderdom. Thailand offers paltry salaries ($1,000/month), and while Vietnam would be fun, remains complicated. Therefore, only one option in Asia remains... China. Shanghai to be precise. Â I have chosen to subject myself to the mercy of the.. I mean, to immerse myself in... wait a second... how do I phrase this... Basically, I'm not sure what I can write, what is "politically-correct," but I will try to offer an honest report of how things are going as possible. I cannot guarantee funny pictures, or stories, every post... but I can try. While traveling, I yearned for the ability to be able to stop and live in a city; to explore the facets of life out of something beyond a backpack. I am hoping, and assuming, that Shanghai will afford me this opportunity. I will feel a lot more confident after receiving my first paycheck, but I should be teaching adults conversational English. Â Also, I have included all of my Myanmar pictures into this post. Ideally they show up. The first one, of a deer, got 1,000+ views, but was taken in Thailand. So is the second, with the bird on a garbage can.Â
