Hi, can you make the hashiras react to a single mother reader who is also a hashira? Let's say she became a single mother because her baby's father abandoned them, and she, seeking to protect her son and give him a better life, joined the hunters. Is it possible that the reader is between 25-30 years old
Plot : Hashiras reacting to single mother!hashira!reader that became Hashira to protect her son.
With : Gyomei Himejima, Sanemi Shinazugawa, Obanai Iguro, Giyuu Tomioka, Muichiro Tokito, Rengoku Kyojuro, Shinobu Kocho, Mitsuri Kanroji.
tengen isn't included simply because i don't know how to write for him. i'll have to reread the manga to understand him and the others a lot better. feel free to tell me what do you think he would do.
TW : blood on gyomei's picture. mentions of swords/katanas and nearly a murder on sanemi's part. probably ooc obanai and sanemi, especially sanemi.
hi ! yeah, sure, i can do that. but i didn't knew whether you meant it with a romantical aspect or not, so i'll just write them as "friends".
I'M SO SO SO SORRY I THOUGHT I UPLOADED THIS ONE :(((
Despite being a very sensitive person, Gyomei is probably the most mature and open-minded Hashira. And, that's a fact, between all the Hashiras, Gyomei is the one who would understand your situation better than the others.
As you both talked for the first time, the conversation came to a point where Gyomei asked you about your past and your motivations. Of course, he was not pushing you to talk about it, his heart is not malicious at all enough for that. But he was curious, and you were willing to satisfy that curiosity of his. So you started talking about your past, about the man you married and entrusted enough to let him explore your body in such intimate ways. Turns out, when he discovered your pregnancy, the faggot folded right on the spot and abandoned both his wife and his offspring, the very own flesh he created by losing himself in a carnal pleasure with the one he loved — or, at least, in appearences.
As you probably deduced it by now, Gyomei started crying as soon as you were finished with telling him your backstory. The way you re-motivated yourself to not self-pity the way life was so cruel to you and that you gathered all the courage you had to become a slayer, one of the most dangerous jobs out there, AND even a Hashira, made Gyomei grow an immense respect for you, for the mother you were, for the woman you decided to be, and for your courage to raise what was the worst, but at the same time the best, gift your ex-husband could have given you.
Joining his palms together, he started praying to the Amida Buddha, asking for his forgiveness and his kindness to make your life easier, to bless you and your child with nothing but love. That scene silently made you giggle, as, when you aren't a close friend of Gyomei, that's surprising to say the least. Your laugh earned a confused look on his face.
You both spent the rest of the night talking about your respective lives around a campfire, having a night free from missions and demons.
Gyomei was the one of the first Hashira you talked to, and one of the only Hashiras who recognized you for the strong women you were.
When you cannot take care of your only son, whether because of a mission or something else, you know you can entrust your child to Gyomei. And in fact, you're right to entrust him, because Gyomei actually love your child and treats him with unconditional love, just like he was with the childs he adopted years ago. And your child was loving him just as equally, he loves to sleep on Gyomei's lap late at night when you're not here, it brings him a sense of protection and comfort just as when you're there. Your son even refers to him as "uncle Gyomei", which makes the both of you laugh heartily.
Sure, Sanemi has some form of kindness hidden deep within his heart, but did you do anything to deserve it ? Do you really think only your pretty face would give you the heart that's solely reserved for his younger brother ? Well, yes and no.
The first time you two talked was right before a meeting with the Hashiras, and oh boy was it intense. You arrived early, and surprisingly, he did too. There were only you, him, and a strange Hashira who has an unglowing passion for lying in trees. The two of them had somewhat of a conversation until you arrived. Both of them glared at you as if you were a demon, which, you won't lie, sent a shiver down your spine. Both their stares were intense but their eyes were empty, and staring deep into the abyss that their eyes were representing was intimidating.
At some point, Obanai and Sanemi stopped talking, and you were already in place for the meeting, carrying your son in your arms. Sanemi frowned or did he ? as he saw this. He approached you and stared at you with disdain.
"Hey. Throw the baby outta here. Master Oyakata wouldn't like intruders."
You raised an eyebrow. "Excuse me ?" You asked, shocked of the almost non-existent sensitivity in this man.
"I won't repeat myself twice." He got his sword out of his scabbard and pointed at the baby. You immediately backed away. "Either you do it, or I do. And I won't be gentle."
"You're crazy..." You whispered just enough for him to hear, protecting your son further in your arms. He smirked hearing this.
"And what about it, bitch ?" And just as he was about to stab your baby, an unexpected arrival made its appearence : The Water Hashira, Giyuu Tomioka. Giyuu was holding Sanemi's wrist strong enough to prevent him from swinging his sword further. Sanemi glared at him.
"Release me, Tomioka." Sanemi said, stomping his foot on the ground, betraying his growing anger.
"Shinazugawa, don't." The Water Hashira said in a surprising calm, despite the situation.
"Don't you dare give me orders !" A vein on the Wind Hashira's forehead grew as he swinged his sword in Tomioka's direction, which Tomioka countered, keeping his calm. And just as Sanemi was about to attack again, a heavy chain was wrapping around Sanemi's right wrist, the one holding his katana, and the strenght of the one who wielded it was so big that Sanemi fell on the ground simply by having his wrist wrapped by a chain.
"Shinazugawa. Do not even think about scratching the child." The Stone Hashira said in a heavy, intimidating voice, which made Sanemi shiver.
Sanemi "tch"ed and glared at you, using his katana which he stabbed in the ground to help himself getting up. He walked away and waited for the meeting to start.
As the meeting finished, everyone was walking away, returning to their lives. But not Sanemi, which was standing right next to you. As you suddenly noticed his presence, you tightened the grip of your arm against your sleeping son's body, and you wrapped your hand on the hilt of your sword, but he slapped your hand away. He sighed and, surprisingly... apologized. It seemed Gyomei's intervention forced his mind at ease.
You both talked for some more, and he realized he judged you in the wrong way. You were actually an incredible being, with an undying love for your child that he couldn't show to his brother, nor to his dead love.
As you both made your ways apart, he started to respect you for the motivation you had and the way you were ready to sacrifice yourself for your child. He was estimating you better, and you both even started to hang out with each other. Rarely, though, Sanemi is still Sanemi.
And here I thought Giyuu was gonna be the hardest one to write about...
Honestly, it took some time for Obanai to actually consider you. The only woman he ever loved and will ever love was the Love Hashira, but apart from her, he hated women deep within his heart. Could you blame him, though, considering his backstory ?
Whenever you two had to met, Obanai was mostly ignoring you, even when you were talking. Mainly because he had his eyes on Mitsuri, but also because he never even thought about sympathizing with you.
The first time you two actually talked was during a Hashira meeting, when you, alongside with the other Hashiras, were planning strategies for a mission that's yet to come. When you asked Obanai if he was okay with your plan, he took some time to answer with a barely audible "Mh". You just ignored it and returned on business, not wanting to do a scene over this.
And the worst part about it is that this was your average conversations. If it wasn't to point out a dramatic behaviour you had or coldly correct something you said, he won't ever talk to you. Not because he hates you, as he has no reasons to do so, but because he's just like that.
And I can't really see the both of you talking further than that. He's just not someone I would see to gladly socialize with you, whereas I could see Sanemi do so. That's just how Obanai's built : If your name is not Mitsuri Kanroji, don't ever talk to him. Or do so, but at your own risk.
If you never ever talked, Giyuu wouldn't have any opinion on you. He wouldn't hate you nor love you nor affectionate you, but he would obviously respect you, just as he does with the other hashiras.
Ironically enough, think the first time you two would talk wouldn't be because of either of you, but because of your child. You'd be taking care of your child, comforting him as he was crying, and to not bother the other Hashiras, you walked away. But it was without counting on Giyuu, which is so quiet you didn't even noticed him. You only noticed him after your child was crying less, and was looking at somewhere... So you turned your look to match your child's direction, and you both were met with Giyuu, his back facing you. You would apologize and ask him if you're disturbing him.
"No." He would simply say, his tone calm and reserved.
He seemingly wasn't the biggest talker, but that was fine with you. So you went to comfort your baby again, but he stopped crying already. You smiled and pet him on the head.
"Thanks for the help !" You said to Giyuu, laughing about the fact that his presence alone was enough to make your child stop crying.
"Oh ? What do we have here, Tomioka ?" The Insect Hashira approached you both. Your presence wouldn't stop her from persisting her amusing habit of teasing Giyuu. "Do you have a friend now ?"
"No." Even though he wasn't being mean, the way he didn't hesitate a single second felt like a stab in the chest. You walked away, leaving Giyuu to his tragic fate of having to endure the endless teasing of Shinobu.
Even though you're not talking with Giyuu casually, the both of you still respect each other, and he's somewhat admirative of the way you take care of your child so bravely.
Depends of which Muichiro are we talking about.
If we're talking about pre-Gyokko fight Muichiro, he wouldn't care a bit about you. Not that he's hating on you or whatever, but he doesn't see any ounce of interest in you. He's just ignoring you and doesn't care about you at all.
If we're talking about post-Gyokko fight, though, that's another story, as this Muichiro is much more open-minded and friendly. He would talk to you whenever you meet, amazed of your bravery and courage of becoming a Hashira to protect your child.
He often asks if he can carry your child, like rocking the baby and playing with him. The first times, you were reluctant about this, you accepted but was guiding Muichiro through it, not wanting him to accidently hurt your only son.
But as time passes, you grew more confident about him, and let him rock your child alone, at least without your help. The big smile on your face as you see your child laughing as he's playing with Muichiro warms both your heart and Muichiro's.
He'd love your child. Like seriously. He'd often asks to play with him whenever you're free, just to pass some time with the both of you and occupy himself.
I don't know how to keep talking about his love for your child without repeating myself soooo yeah.
The first Hashira to ever talk to you. You could immediately tell he was one of the most friendly, if not the friendliest.
The first time you two ever talked was him welcoming you in his energetic, loud voice. He gave you an interview about what being a Hashira consists of, the pros and cons about being one, etc etc. He would shake your hand energetically while introducing himself and the other Hashiras. Some of them waved at you, and some... well, weren't bothering to even look at you.
One day, he would see a baby snuggled in your arms, and would, in a quiet tone (surprising of him, isn't it ?) asks you lots of questions about him. When you told him he was your only son, he smiled warmly and looked at him. He asked if he could "talk" to him, which you accepted since he wasn't asleep yet.
The baby immediately cried. Rengoku's energy scared him. Poor Rengoku was lost as you comforted the child, asking himself if he did something wrong.
Nonetheless, that moment didn't established a tension between the two of you, as Rengoku isn't someone hateful !
When he'd finally get to hear your story, he would greet your courage and emphasize how strong of a woman and how good of a mother you were !
"Keep that up ! You're doing a great job !" He'd often say, even though he isn't a father himself and has no idea how to take care of a baby. Thanks, Shinjuro.
But he's trying his best to support you, so you find it cute.
Overall, a good friend of yours. You know you can entrust him with your child as well. He may be a bit awkward, but he can take care of your baby just fine. When he wants to, at least.
Shinobu, being both a little sister and an older sister figure for Kanae (and probably Inosuke), would be one of the best Hashiras to relate on for your child. Her large field of knowledge in the medical aspects would help as well, as whenever you or your child feels sick, she's a go-to.
After Rengoku and Mitsuri, she would probably be the third Hashira to approach you, introducing herself and welcoming you into the Hashira crew with a warming smile.
She'd be quick to notice the small figure resting in your arms, looking down on it. You explained that it was your son and that he was the sole reason you joined the Demon Slayer Corps. She complimented your bravery and courage, as joining the hunters is not a light decision and it requires a strong personality.
If you need assistance regarding your baby, she'd be quick to drop everything she's on at the moment to help you. She knows just how much the life of a human, especially as young and innocent as a child, values.
When you're on a mission and need someone to take care of the child, she'll be the first — or second, supposing Rengoku is out there — to propose help. She'd take care of your baby the best she can, making sure he gets enough sleep and food (or formula milk depending his age, but that could be considered the same thing anyway). As much as she would like to avoid doing such, her helping also requires changing your baby's diaper.
Most of your conversations revolves around your baby's well-being or even yours, as being a mother can be quite draining.
Overall, a great moral (and physical ? I'm sorry I don't know how to say that) support to your long journey of raising a child in such a harsh world. She's trying her best to help every Hashiras, and you're not an exception. Nor is your kid.
Well, she'd be quite the excited mess looking at your child. It's most likely that she would, I quote, "die of cuteness".
She would be the second Hashira to come and meet you, introducing herself although Rengoku did that job already. The first topic of conversation she can think of will be the child in your arms. Mitsuri is someone who's easy to talk to, with who every conversation flaws quite well, and so you'll be quick to explain that this pure being sleeping in your arms is the reason you joined the Demon Slayer Corps. Just like Mitsuri, she'll admire your courage and bravery.
As much as I like to think she would ask you if she could hold the child in her arms, doing so could be devastating. She isn't familiar with babies and how to hold them comfortably without hurting them. Panic would get the best of her and she'd be so agitated, fearing she's doing something wrong. So sweet, isn't she ?
Still, if you guide her and show her how to properly do so, she'll be quick to learn and hold the baby in her arms. Tears would start to form in her eyes at how overly cute the baby looked. Suddenly she wants kids.
She wouldn't really know how to help you with the baby but if you need a moral support, she's definitely there. She'd talk with you for hours and hug you if you needed to.
I don't really have any more inspiration regarding Mitsuri, I'm sorry. :(
But yeah overall she'd find you brave and cool, joining the hunters for the sake of a human you're so intimately linked with. You gained all of her respect.
