there it is again. that taste of displeasure on her tongue.
lately, sheâs been thinking that a friend of hers isnât a friend at all. itâs the last thing that jessie wants to deal with; thereâs too much nagging and desperation and not enough comfort for friendship. itâs more like something stifling, or being crammed into a room with too many people even if theyâre alone and trying to have fun. read: cesca might be having fun. jessie has lost the ability to have it when sheâs in the otherâs presence.
â   are you really going to bitch about this again? youâre not my only friend.   â  sheâs not even her best friend. even jae doesnât do shit like this, and heâs chaotic enough, crumbling at the seams even if he doesnât seem to think so. truthfully, sheâs tired of this. francescaâs constant whining whenever she goes out with someone who isnât her, or even if jessie brings someone along on one of their outings is just so ... tiring. sheâs tired.   â   i donât have to listen to this all the time, cesca. honestly? i shouldnât have to listen to it at all. iâm not going to play this game with you anymore so, iâm done. weâre done.   â  sheâd rather cut the ties of friendship than to feel herself slipping away.
after all, jessieâs already been there, done that once - lost herself because of someone else. she wonât go through it all again.
