So. Aquarius. OC day! And I decided you know what, let's just make a brand new one just for today! And I had so much fun too. Here she is.

14 year old Honeybee, or just Bee, is a mysterious Duelist who wanders around Heartland City, seemingly in her own world. In reality, she seeks the Number cards, believing they can lead her to fathers after one vanished 5 years ago on an expedition with the renowned explorer Kazuma Tsukumo and scientists Byron Arclight and Dr. Faker, of which only Faker survived, and the other followed during the search and rescue with Mira Tsukumo.
Honeybee has since been raised by her assortment of uncles and aunts. If there's a thing that needs to be done, chances are she knows how to do it because "I have an uncle". She has the ability to communicate with monsters, and seems to be somewhat of a "psychic duelist", because "I have an aunt who taught me how".
She won't share much details about her family, however, but it seems as though she was raised by duelists who were once very well known and even celebrated before they quietly retired (well, most of them anyway...)
And as we're gonna get long and rambly I'm gonna add a cut here.
So, Honeybee is entirely self-indulgent. Might even be a mary-sue; she's a turbo duelist and a psychic duelist, and has a very important family, but she's my oc and I get to do what I like, sue me.
As for that family, this is where it gets beyond Zexal haha. Her fathers are Yusei Fudo and Placido/Primo from 5Ds. Which 1) is my way to connect 5Ds and Zexal the way DM and GX are connected 2) me creating a fan child for my 5Ds ultimate OTP that like one other person has ever considered a ship. Her outfit was inspired by both of theirs, and the colours were taken from both of them. I still don't know how happy i am with them, but I've given up lmao. Maybe if I redo it, I'll give her a blue jacket like Yusei, I dunno. In any case, she grew up in Neo Domino, raised not only by her fathers but by the entirety of team 5ds (because I want the found family to remain family and therefore in one house)- and Lester/Lucciano. In this AU, Yusei was contacted by Faker due to Yusei's unique work and experience for help on the expedition. He ended up being sent to Barian when Faker betrayed the group. When the news came that Yusei was apparently killed in a freak accident, Placido was unable to cope with the grief, and despite the rest of the group begging him to stay home for his daughter, his pain was too selfish and he refused to accept Yusei was dead, so he ended up going with Mira Tsukumo to try find their husbands. Lucciano (at the time aged 15) ended up forcing his way along. He was the only one to come home, and he wasn't able to explain any of what had happened, his memory completely scrambled. Honeybee then was raised by the remaining of team 5ds, and they did their best to try keep the grief from consuming her, however while she behaved like she'd accepted it, deep inside she believed her fathers were still alive somewhere.
Obviously, her name isn't actually Honeybee. It's just her childhood nickname, given to her by Placido (a reference to the bee references Placido kept making when duelling Yusei). Her real name I'm still working on, I'm considering Mirai even though that's Yuma's mother's name, because both Yusei and Placido's motivations centred around a future. Mirai Fudo. In Heartland, she uses the nickname Honeybee because she doesn't want people to recognise her surname.
Speaking of Heartland, she is also not supposed to be there. For the sake of the plot, Neo Domino and Heartland are just a train ride away. And so, instead of going to school, she's been sneaking off to Heartland. This started as a part of her grief over losing her fathers so suddenly; Heartland was easy to get to, and had nowhere that reminded her of her family. She was just invisible in Heartland, and she liked it. That is until the Number Cards start appearing, and due to her abilities (taught to her by Akiza, who was hoping the skill would give her something to focus on other than the grief) she was able to sense there was something more to it, and figured there would be a way to find her fathers. Because of this, she ended up working with Yuma, believing that there cannot be a coincidence that the son of the other man who disappeared is connected to the cards that seem to carry the energy Lucciano was swamped in when he came home from the failed rescue.
And that's all I have truly set out in terms of her story, anyway, in chronological order. Other than this, she ends up going with Yuma to Astral World because she wants to take the chance to find her fathers too- and doesn't find them there either. It's during the merging of Barian and Earth that Yusei and Primo finally make an appearance. Not sure how, but it's something heroic and dramatic, of course.

Almost every question to 'how the hell can you do that' is 'I have an uncle'. 'How did you break into a secure facility?' 'I have an uncle'. 'How did you get us into the finalists gala when Yuma lost the tickets??' 'I have an uncle'. 'How did you know how to drive??' 'I have an uncle'.
She prefers synchro decks, but stopped using them because it draws attention as people have stopped using them.
While he's her uncle, Lucciano is more of a brother to her due to their closeness in age, and part of Honeybee's motivations is to work out what the hell traumatised Lucciano so badly that he's now quiet and serious, when he used to be bright and loud and reckless.
Lucciano used to be friends with Christopher Arclight and Honeybee knew Michael and Thomas when Byron was working with Yusei, as Yusei would bring Lucciano and Honeybee along to meet Bryon's children so that Lucciano and Honeybee could make friends. Lucciano clicked with Christopher quickly, and Thomas liked him a lot. Honeybee and Michael were too shy to ever become friends, and only vaguely recall each other.
Despite skipping school constantly, Honeybee still attends exams, and will make herself present a few times just to cover her tracks. The teachers have been soft on her knowing she's grieving. She still completes her exams and passes with high grades, which is a benefit to having two geniuses for fathers.
She has a crush on Rio but keeps it to herself because she wouldn't know how to approach that conversation, and she just doesn't want to have to share her past with people. Her main comfort in being in Heartland and with Yuma's friends is in how they don't know anything about her. Even Yuma doesn't know, despite her knowing him.
Jack Atlas is the one who hasn't retired. He is still an active turbo duelist. She used to go to every one of his major duels. After her fathers disappeared, she couldn't bear to be in the stadium without Yusei being there to cheer Jack on.

Propaganda: Because Yusei is one of the only people who could tolerate Primo, and also Primo deserves to be treated kindly. He only has the vague memories of being loved by someone, and Yusei is the kind of person to at least befriend anyone regardless of their background. If anyone would just unambiguously care about Primo, it'd probably be Yusei.
Propaganda: I've had this agenda for several years and now I need to infect other people with it | So me and a friend came up with this pairing for a story and we ended up getting attached to it. But that's besides the point. Bommer and Misty actually have a lot of similarities (losing a younger sibling, revenge plots, etc). Their personalities are also similar.

Yugioh Rare Pair Week (Belated) Day 2 - Hurt/Comfort
THIS bozo thought she could knock out a comic in a day and half and then ended up taking 5 days instead…. whoops!! anyway, scenario where Yusei has to put his mechanical know-how into fixing Primo for some reason or another…something something the intimacy of repairing fine machinery…. something something someone so adamantly proclaiming to be unloved and unloveable being shown patience and raw, genuine kindness and not knowing what to do about it… that’s the good stuff. to me.
Something something highsidershipping something something who was the one person Primo wanted to destroy? Yusei.
Who did Primo spend an entire duel trying to kill? Yusei
Who did Primo keep trash talking and degrading? Yusei
Who was concerned about Primo and ran to check on him when he fell and was torn apart? Yusei
It just makes me feral that the one (and probably only) person who showed Primo a single shred of concern was the very same guy he was actively trying to kill, and just thinking about what Primo must have thought then. How he must have felt, seeing that the person he taunted and hunted turned to him to help. When Iliaster didn't show a single shred of emotion to his state, and yet his "enemy" openly worried. About him.
We all (by all I mean you me and the like maybe two other people in the highsidershipping club) know that highsidershipping is the perfect source of deep dark angst, but what about FLUFF what about SOFT MOMENTS what about HEALING-
I don't know if it's just me but I can see Yusei gently stroking Primo's hands (and I firmly believe Primo's hands would be absolutely scarred) to calm him down. Also naps. He would make Primo take naps and have naps with him (if Bruno needed sleep I can assume Primo does too if for the sake of this headcanon).
Anyway, highsidershipping deserves fluff.
i gotta admit, i'm really not much of an expert on fluff, unfortunately! But lord knows highsider deserves all the quiet moments of connection and tenderness it can get lol
Napping together is very sweet, but I am also quite fond of the alternative option, i.e. Yusei can take a much needed short rest in close quarters but Primo's mechanical makeup leaves his ass wide awake with His Situationship shoulder to shoulder with him. Oh to be overwhelmed by the realization that someone trusts you enough to fall asleep next to you...and also look very handsome while sleeping too boot >///> ......<////<;;;;
