I looked into the dark scanning it for something familiar, I searched for hours looking all around my up and down, left and right, nothing. I tried calling out looking for something, someone. My brother, hoping I'd see his dumb face smiling, talking about some game I missed years ago, maybe he'd ruffle my hair and I'd feel home. Alas all I could see your miles was a dark inky black abyss and all I could hear was myself yelling and harsh shallow breaths escaping my throat. I sat down on the ground it was cold and hard, it hurt slightly. I stared up at the whatever invisible sky was there hoping there was some sign of a end. I spent days, or was it hours? minutes felt like hours and hours felt like years with no night or day cycle. until finally I stared in the darkness and the darkness looked back, it saw me for all my flaws, my insecurities, imperfections and it didn't judge. For once I felt home
