All ao3 authors truly love and appreciate every comment they receive, this is why we're trying to highlight them here, with Comment Feast! Hopefully, this encourages everyone to leave a comment on the next fic they read ❤️
Remember, the core of fandom interactions and general fandom fun is engagement with each other! Let's not let our beloved everlark spaces lose what we love most about them.
Now, back to this wonderful fic:
Summary: Forget being a lover. Ever since the Quarter Quell announcement, Peeta's dropped all pretense of even being Katniss' friend. It's been so long, in fact, that she can't remember if all those hugs and kisses were real or not. Because if they're not being given out whenever she'd like, did they even exist in the first place?
One of my favorite parts:
Peeta leaves briefly before hurrying back excitedly and saying, There’s a bear on the tracks! He takes my hand and begins dragging me toward the front of the train, but all I can think about is how weird his hand feels in mine. I have lots of experience with Peeta’s hands, but right now they feel almost foreign. We reach the front, and he points out a large brown bear lumbering on the tracks, lazily pawing at some green patches. I’ve seen enough bears during my time in the woods, but I realize that this must be the first time Peeta has seen one in person, so I decide to look at his face instead of the animal outside. He looks entranced as he watches on, and I squeeze his hand. It looks so sweet, he states. Not dangerous at all. I smile. Just don’t get between him and his food. You two have a lot in common, then, he replies with a laugh. I scoff in offense, let go of his hand, and cross my arms. Kidding! I’m kidding! Peeta tells me, and he kisses my cheek. It’s so light, I struggle to feel it.
Pictures!
