...It's basically the 7th dimensional self forgetting that it is infinity. That basic avidya is itself an energy restlessness; 9th fetter. That energy restlessness leads to Ahamkara; 8th fetter. Ahamkara goes then to the whole scheme of subject-object grasping and preferences and that's then the 6th and 7th fetters; being the thirst for non-becoming or attachment to formless and thirst for becoming or attachment to form; which includes body form but also thought form; meaning I want to keep thinking or I think I need to keep thinking or thinking is real. And all of that is karma production. So the purpose in some ways of the teaching on karma in Buddhism is so that one can replace unskillful karmic generation with skillful karmic generation, which is sila; but the purpose of sila is simply to make a foundation for samadhi. The purpose of samadhi is simply to be a foundation for prajna and that's ultimately far beyond simply the valuable insights regarding personal psychology and karma or causation and skillful vs. unskillful... all of those mundane insights are very helpful but actually the goal of that or their destination objective really is experience outside the 5 skandhas, which is not an experience at all, but the ending of experience.
