this is so random alskfjskdk but i saw the chappell roan post you reblogged and idek 100% what happened (bc it also genuinely doesnt matter omg did she kill someone or what) but i have the theory that a venn diagram of ppl who are so vocal about disliking chappell roan rn while on the other hand still support hp content despite knowing abt the harmful shit jkr is and has been doing would look interesting. this is nothing but a (bad faith maybe) assumption but yeah it's my two cents.
omg hi i'm so sorry and forgot to answer this but you could definitely be on to something. they definitely share the thread of being stupid aldsjkf
3 + 4 for you 2025 movies! (if you're still doing those of course). meant to do 1 + 2 + 3 but luckily i saw that you already did those 🙂↕️ (no other choice was on my watchlist already and the mastermind went on there now as well!)
Hope you like The Mastermind! A lot of people on Letterboxd thought it was boring, but I didn’t feel that way about it at all.
3. Sorry, Baby (dir. Eva Victor)
Such a strong debut, and I can’t wait to see what Eva Victor does next. I really love the way that the rape scene is filmed, and I love that we see Agnes in the immediate aftermath and a few years later when she has started to recover but is clearly still struggling. Great characters too. The awkward humor didn’t really work for me, but at the same time it feels suitable for the situation. I liked it a lot.
4. Sinners (dir. Ryan Coogler)
I don’t have anything to say that hasn’t already been said. Good movie. Miles Caton deserves more love, and I hope he has a long and successful career. Delroy Lindo gives one of my favorite performances of the year. Ludwig Göransson is unquestionably one of the greatest film composers working today. Everyone understandably praises “I Lied to You,” but “Pale, Pale Moon” is criminally underrated (Jayme Lawson’s voice!!!!!). I like that the vampires are a hive mind; the way they say everything in near-perfect unison is so eerie. The dialogue is too exposition-heavy, and some of the characters, especially Mary, are thinly written, but I also appreciate that the film takes the time to get us invested in all the characters.
2, 5 (i read that in olivia cookes voice my brain is just wired like that) and 9! :)
thank youuuu <3
2. what movie have you watched most recently? what did you think of it?
i have a boxing day tradition with my sister of binge watching the lotr movies (minus the frodo and sam parts) so i did that and i loved it!! i love those movies sm
5. what’s your drink of choice?
i don’t drink a lot of tea but i love a fruit tea; i’m not really an actual tea leaf tea kind of girl. then in honour of d’cooke, my favourite alcoholic beverage is a margarita
9. favourite time of day and why?
definitely evening into the night bc my obligations are usually all done so i’m free to spend my time how i want, without anxiety that i should be doing something else
omg it's your birthday today?! happy birthday then!!! 🥳
thank you antonia!!! <3 <3
