About 200 people (83 percent of them Inuit) live in Resolute, Nunavut, Canada, yearround. A main source of income is providing logistical support for tourism, mining, and research in the High Arctic.

Devon Island in the Canadian High Arctic is the largest uninhabited island in the world. The photo shows an area just west of Cuming Inlet.

In order to make the region’s transformations more tangible at home, the digital design group UnitedVisualArtists created High Arctic, a dazzling interactive installation that lets viewers explore a high-tech simulacrum of the Arctic, set 100 years in the future.
