Blaring music ringing through his ears and a potent mix of tequila and vodka in his stomach had left Miles feeling a little disorientated. He’d already rid himself of the leather jacket previously adorning his torso but it was too warm in the house to walk around clad in heavy material. Long fingers brought the lit cigarette to his lips, tipping his head back to glance at the night sky while drawing in a lung full of smoke. He’d broken away from the chaos inside to collect his thoughts and attempt to sober up slightly. Spoiler: it wasn’t working. Bringing his gaze back to ground level, Miles caught a glimpse of a familiar face, “Well, look what the cat dragged in.” He drawled through a cheeky smirk. 

It probably wasn’t the best idea but Mel couldn’t have contain the laughter that spilled out of her as she bore witness to the other person’s embarrassing moment. It was clear that they, as much as her, were already being effected by the copious amount of booze Mike had supplied them with. “Are you okay?” She finally asked amidst the laughter, tipping back her shot glass in the process. “I’m sorry - but that was hysterical. You’re so lucky I’m going to probably forget about this tomorrow.” The party was in full swing - everyone seemingly enjoying themselves. No one cared about curfew or the fact that there was a killer and for someone like Amelia, that was a very dangerous notion. 

Was the party a bad idea? Probably. But for once, Julia didn’t care. She had made a promise to herself to enjoy tonight. And despite being painfully sober, Julia had let loose. The music blared around them so loud it was hard to even understand what the song was about. The bass shook her bones and with it, every worry she had been carrying the last couple of weeks. Her hands tangled in her hair as she spun around, laughing with the folks around her. Julia loved to dance - she had been trained professionally for years by behest of her parents but the dancing here wasn’t coordinated and timed, it was free. She was having fun for the first time in weeks and she was sober. There wasn’t a better feeling.

“How long until the police show up knockin’ at the door then?” Asa raised a single brow to the other after taking a sip from the bottle in his hand. “Like, surely they know about it and they’re not letting this go on past curfew right? That would be mad.” He laughed. He was waiting for the bang at the door to happen any time now because although the party was fun.. there was still a killer on the loose. “I better get these drinks down my neck fast before the party police show up.”

Danny walked back into the party, wiping his hands on his dark jeans as he reentered the party. It was probably in more of a craze than when he had left and Danny couldn’t help but grin. The music was blasting, people were dancing and doing stupid shit. He didn’t waste a second in grabbing a drink from the nearest station and heading out back to the yard where most folks were hanging. “Is everyone here hammered already? I feel like it just got started!” He said to the first person he ran into when he made it to the yard.
