naoe to hinako

The sound of rain pitter-pattering on the roof of the temple was making her sleepy, eyelids drooping no matter how hard Hinako tried to keep them raised. They were not safe here. She knew that, deep down, even if Naoe had claimed that nobody would dare harm them inside this place.

Hinako had seen enough monsters in the Dark Shrine of her nightmares to know that even demons could defile sacred ground. She had to stay alert. Had to focus.

She wanted to find her way home. Gods, it felt so ridiculous saying that! She wanted to be back in Ebisugaoka, back with Shu, with Rinko and Sakuko. Even if that meant seeing her horrible parents again, or getting married off. Hinako wanted her old life back.

Here, in this town of ancient history, Hinako felt useless. But having Naoe around did help a little.

Stirred from her thoughts by a sudden weight on her back, Hinako lifted her head. "Naoe-san...?" Blink. Oh. Naoe's haori. Carefully, the young woman took the edge of the cloth, bringing it tighter to her body.

The Keeper halted dead in her tracks at the man's words. Emperor of Rome, clearly he had to be joking. Never once in her many years on this earth did Kassandra once side with the Emperor of Rome. When she was aiding Wei Yu in his search for an artifact in Ionia, she also aided the Carthaginians against the Roman soldiers. Oh her relationship with the Roman empire was a complicated one, though she had lent aid from the shadows to the Roman Bureau, keeping her ties to Amunet secret to everyone, including Amunet herself.

Chickens, on the other hand, were quite the deadly lot, she only trusted them when they were cooked and served to her on a plate.

If we're talking about U.ltrakill they'd be "supreme" husks, humans that have enough will power to have a mind when they're reformed in Hell. I think Edward would be a funny anti-F.erryman, instead of sailing the seas of Wrath to ferry souls and pray for redemption, he could sail the wailing sea and take the coin from the souls trying to gain safe passage. Which,,, would make Gabe be like "REALLY???? Even here???" or he could be in Greed permanently carrying something heavy on his back up the pyramids on the burning hot sand.

Mary could be in Lust, not because of the layer's sin itself, but lust was a utopia for a while once God vanished and they sent for other Husks to bring them back there. Of course Lust's rebellion got crushed when Gabe killed M.inos and his corpse started destroying the city he built, I could see her fitting in there especially as a scouting party before everything collapsed. Probably could meet back up with Edward some time after depending on where he ends up.

Unless you think they'd get into Heaven, which is,,,, even harder in U.ltrakill because the angels fucking suck. They'd probably be V.irtues or "greater" A.ngels that fall into some sort of disciple work under one of the a.rchangels.

Gabriel spoke plainly, now malice in his tone despite the condescension. He still didn't know why The Father thought this human out of everyone on the planet was worthy of being redeemed even when it was so plain to see Edward didn't care about anything, but where his next taste of alcohol was going to come from. But he wasn't going to question his whims. The angel just felt sorry for Caroline, he must've been sweet to her at some point if she thought he was still worth all this trouble. So he'd try to see it too. Key word being try.
