from one angle it's both inevitable and I'd say actually generally pretty good and constructive for people to use fiction as a medium to process feelings about themselves, their lives, and the people around them, in a way that is the kinda the whole point of fiction, it's a safe environment to work through stuff and it's completely natural to see a story and think "this reminds me of my relationship with My Shitty Dad" and use those fictional characters as a pair of oven mitts to explore one's own feelings with a barrier of protection. I am in favor of this, and even if it doesn't usually lead to "good" character readings I just fundamentally believe that real people matter more than fictional characters so it's more important that those Real People have a good and fulfilling time with their hobbies than it is for them to make "good" hobby art. and from another angle I am bleeding from the eyes, nose, mouth, and ears. so.
