“I didn’t realize that was an option.” At least he had used the front door this time, though now he stood smirking in the entry way to Maya’s house. In his hands he held an empty measuring cup which he offered an explanation for. “I was really just coming by to see if I could borrow some sugar. I don’t keep any around my place. Though… I guess there’s more than one way to pay back that favor you owe me.”
“Shut up,” she retorted, yawning and tugging on the hem of her sleep shirt to make sure she was fully covered. When he held the measuring cup out, she squinted at it, then gave him an are you serious look. “Come in, you royal pain in my butt,” she grumbled, slowly making her way into her kitchen. “Anything else that you need, Midnight Baker?” she asked, reaching up, grabbing her sugar out of one of the cabinets, and handing it over to him to pour. “What do you need sugar for at this time of night anyways?”
