It was dark out, but it was the perfect time of night for adventures. It had been years since Woohyun had been reckless - he remembered the times as a child when he would ride his bike to a nearby, small forest and they’d lose themselves in worlds of fantasies for the day. The light that shimmered through the canopy of leaves wasn’t just sunlight, the little specks of fibres and dust and air particles it caught on were pixie dust, and they were lost in the world of the fairies.
But those fantasies died in his teens, not only because those fantasies do fade as you grow up, but because of the darkness that fell over him - it was hard to imagine anything when the world seemed to pointless, and empty and cold. No one could mend Woohyun during those years, not the sunshine through the trees, his old friends, or the fairies in his head - none of it ever showed up again.
Calling on an old friend he’d only recently found himself back in contact with, Jihyun. She was the person he remembered most vividly from his adventures when he was younger - they’d known each other for what seemed like their whole lives, at least to Woohyun, and he regretted having lost contact during his teens - he would always thank his lucky stars for that day he bumped into her again and recognised her immediately.
They’d decided that adults didn’t look for fairies in forests, they looked for the hazy cloud of intoxication, and the giggles and carefree feeling that came with it all - one night having fun and forgetting their worries to the liquor in the bottles Woohyun carried in the plastic bag hitting against his leg as he walked, wouldn’t harm anyone.
