A public art commission in a month or less? No problem, we can do that. Excited to finally share that artist Tatjana Kunst (@mermudstudio) was awarded the first #artonthebeach19 installation. Tatjana's "Floating Forest: Playland" was chosen from among 54 proposals for this unique opportunity to transform a long-time vacant, 750+ sq ft vendor booth into a work of art. The call only went out in late May. Congratulations to Tatjana, and major shout out to the incredible team at @artswestcheaster, especially my right hand on these projects @lhanley12. It was an ambitious timeline, and everyone rallied to make it happen. Tatjana (and her entire family) was a true pleasure to work with.
