'I'm telling you, I can't eat any more lemons! I had enough for a lifetime. We've been on this boat for one week and all we had was lemons. If we will ever be rescued I will never eat a piece of yellow fruit again!' Jim said with a sad face.
He and his friend were stranded in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. They nearly avoided death when their ship sank. It was fortunate that Jim was carrying a pallet of boxes filled with lemons. He fell in a life boat and after the ship sank he also recovered his friend Ramon who was floating in the cold water.
'Jim, I know you are upset. Imagine what we would have done without these life saving lemons? We can't drink sea water. We didn't manage to salvage anything from the ship. We will be saved soon. I can feel it. We have a couple of boxes left. If we ration them they should last us for a week. It could have been worse, I'm telling you!' Ramon replied.
The two castaways stopped talking and just looked in the distance for any signs of ships or rescue crews. Nothing could be seen except for seagulls and other marine birds.
'Birds are a good sign. Some land might be close,' Ramon said in a hopeful tone.
'Some birds can fly hundreds of miles away from the coast. I'm not that optimistic,' Jim replied.
The men decided to sleep to conserve their energy. The next morning they found themselves on a beach. The high sea sent their small boat on the shore.
'We are saved! We will make a shelter and a fire and try to find water! Let's explore!' Jim pleaded.
The men found many lemon trees on the island.
Jonas has been chubby since the age of ten. He wanted to be a dancer since forever. While in a market the sound of a big cleaver hitting the chopping board attracted him to the meat stand. There he saw a big man cutting pork ribs and sheep parts. Customers were lined up waiting patiently to order. This image made Jonas understand the importance of meat and how much power it has over people.
'I want to be a butcher!' the boy said with a cold face.
Since that day the usually smiling boy changed. If before he was happy to receive sweets and toys now Jonas only asked for sharp knives and tenderloin for breakfast. Cows and pigs started to sense his different aura and they were fleeing from his path. If the class was going to the zoo he knew it was pointless to try and approach and pet the animals. It didn't help that while looking at animals he would speak loudly about how they would be portioned and how much meat each of it had.
'Chubby lion. I would say 90 kg of raw meat easily! Deer, same! Buffalo? 300 kg of prime parts! Wonderful! Wonderful!' Jonas said and started laughing maniacally.
At the age of 13 he left school and got a job as a butcher's boy. The owner was impressed by his skills and decided to make him his heir. One day Jonas managed to finish portioning all the cows and sheep before his shift ended. He was close to hitting his record of two tons of portioned meat. The owner congratulated him and told him to go home early.
'I'm a bit short, sir!' Jonas replied eyeing his boss who looked back nervously.
'50 kg of prime meat!' the boy exclaimed grinning.
Jessie was a young beekeeper living in a mountainous valley. He had one hundred families of bees and a herd of fifty goats. Because he loved the little insects so much yellow became his favorite color. His hut was painted in bright yellow and his clothes were the same color.
'I am one of you, little friends! I'm a chubby bee! Don't attack me! We can share the honey,' he said while collecting the precious product.
The honey was sold once every three months during a fair. With the money from cheese and honey he would buy Apple stock.
After a couple of years living alone with the bees and the goats Jessie started to feel sad. He would visit the fair briefly and barely talk to anyone. The world of humans was not to his liking anymore.
'I don't fit anymore. I like the simple life in the mountains. Nature is my friend. Humans destroy the environment while they consume more and more. I want to have nothing to do with this,' he thought while milking a goat.
Jonas decided to sell his stocks and donate the money to a charity. Now he spent most of his free time painting and reading. His diet consisted mainly of honey and goat cheese. Together with the physical work he was doing this turned the young man into an Adonis. Once at the fair again he was spotted by a talent agency which offered him a big contract.
The beekeeper thought about this proposal and decided to accept it.
'If I will become famous my voice can be heard more clearly. I can talk to people about the environment,' he thought climbing down the mountain and heading to the photography studio.
Beekeeper Jessie would change his name to Robert Pattinson.
