There are those in this world, that will use the words I’m sorry as a safety net, and then expect the damage to be undone. And then they wonder why bitterness still lingers in your blood like venom.
It is beyond my years, beyond my body, why her tears bring emotion to my throat. Maybe because some part of me is still human enough to know that loss, is universal, and that suffering is impossible to go through alone, and I will not stand and watch as she loses her mind.

Bruce found regret knotted in his stomach the second he knocked.
