The Song of the Day today is a hexd and digicore track. The Noelle parts are more a little bit on the digital hardcore or digicore side, while takihasdied's verse is some solid hexd. The instrumental is about as digital hardcore as you can expect from femtanyl, albeit with a melodic bassline which is somewhat atypical for such a track.

The lyrics on this track may seem inane but they create such an engrossing world and feeling to suck you into which I think you have to be really into a certain realm of transgenderism online to really appreciate. The imagery is so crystal clear, so vivid: "Snap my neck and then just watch me glow," "take my E and think about my setbacks," "bloody nail polish on my wristwatch." The pair of Noelle and takihasdied have a really interesting delivery, too. Noelle's autotuned vocals with a digital buzz to them are very smooth and charismatic, while takihasdied's voice is much more chopped up and aggressive and overall very cathartic. Both of their verses are delivered over a beautiful digital hardcore/hexd beat with a wondrous and slick melodic bassline and classic DHC drums; the song is so beautifully danceable, it's remarkable. It's really such a hype song; I really do want to murder every one I know and go and make a big bag. Thanks, femtanyl.

femtanyl was, at the time of release of this song, the project of just one musician, Noelle Stockwood, but last year it became a duo with Juno Callendar, although the collaborative spirit was always with the project, given that Noelle worked with a pair of DJ's earlier on in femtanyl's timeline. This song is part of the excellent CHASER EP, which is a collection of six incredible songs that is probably my favorite EP ever. Recently, femtanyl pivoted to a more classic digital hardcore sound on their debut album MAN BITES DOG, which I lowkey didn't really like that much, but it's okay because CHASER is still some of the best music ever made.
