EIRRIK MELOIR is the reclusive swindler of a local Plagaris waste treatment facility. Living underground and free from the shackles of employment, he spends his days composing/critiquing music or constructing intricate contraptions, often of the torturous variety (and rarely used, despite his claims). He personally likens himself to airs of bold mystery, danger and genius. Beneath this haughty anachronistic garb and persona is the host of the music sharing service, HOPPSTER, that took the internet by storm. He purposefully drives most trolls away through his attention-seeking via aggravation out of insecurity over his facial difference and amputations, leaving him distant from a world that rejected him in grubhood. Yet, it is a world that he still yearns to join. His otherwise understandable yearnings, however, have led him to presumptuous ideas of what he is deserving of that tend to put any decent troll off. A ROSARY can attest to this. Most only refer to him as “Meloir”.
HESIRE NEBETH is a historical archivist/researcher for the brooding caverns, collecting ancestral information to pair with the geneticists’ research. He is fairly low on the wide cavern worker food chain, but has gained connections over the years that allow him to slightly influence more prominent figures through the grapevine. A deaf troll that slipped through the cracks himself, he’s made some notable progress in reducing the culling of disabled grubs. On the side, he has a vested interest in music, collecting various historical instruments. This interest led to a bond with the musical phantom who haunts the cavern walls. Hesire's analytical mindset paired with his passion for music led him to the discovery of messages from the dead laced within the notes, which he can feel through the vibrations. While he’s taught the skill to a couple confidants, he keeps this gift generally under wraps.
Hesy-Ra (alt. Hesire, Hesira) was an official, physician (possibly the first known in history) and scribe who lived during the Third dynasty of Egypt, served under the pharaoh Djoser, and was buried in an elaborate tomb at Saqqara. He bore titles such as "Chief of Dentists and Physicians" and "Chief of the King's Scribes".
