He disregards the typical positions of their professional dynamic completely, either walking around the room with his back turned or spreading his legs every millimetre that chair allows. I mean I would assume someone getting actual therapy would not actively turn away from their psychiatrist and either insisting on an actively defensive and disinterested body language or present himself that... seductively.

Even the manspreading is kind of defensive though. It feels like a "yeah. And what are you gonna do about it?" demeanour. When he's not throwing himself at Hannibal with those big, sad encephalitis eyes, he seems to insist on a certain dominance there and it goes without being said that Hannibal finds that at the very least highly intriguing.

When he's sitting at his desk, that turned into something casual. Of course he's allowed to do that. Will is allowed to touch anything in that room. He's allowed to shape their dynamic with their positions. From a first glance, someone sitting and being towered over would seem submissive but here, it's not. It's Hannibal letting Will invade and disregard his authority. It's Hannibal looking down at him like a man desperate to serve.

All that is manipulative. Of course it is. Will seeks comfort in casual dominance and Hannibal gives in to submission in order to make his words seem entirely innocent but you see, my point is that my favourite dynamic for them has a fundament to stand on even back in S1. But knowing that 1) his accuracy isn't that great 2) he holds his gun up to his forehead and 3) has issues with his shoulder to the point of needing to use a different stance to shoot, I don't think he'd be all that comfortable shooting with one hand.

While yes, he'd probably still manage to shoot him in the head without issue, you gotta think about how Will would feel shooting like that. The recoil is strong as is, shooting with one hand and yeah, someone well trained would have no problem but he isn't, is he? He holds the gun up to Hannibal's head with one hand, the shoulder of which is fairly fucked. That can't be his preferred position if he actually had any intention of shooting. That just can't be comfortable.

Which is why I can even more comfortably say that from the point he pretty much leaps forward, he doesn't intend on killing him at all.

Why is this even important? Haven't we already established that he just wanted to give Hannibal a little taste of his whorish evil ways to set up his little honeypot scheme?

Hannibal insisting on pulling him in and greeting Will with a kiss every time they've been apart for a minute save me
