FLUFF FRIDAY STARTERS || Still accepting
@heroicalling asked: “You have really pretty eyes.” The words had slipped from his mouth before he'd even recognized them, his cheeks flaring a bright red, hands clasped around them as if he could will the embarrassment away. Did he really say that out loud?! Sure - she did! She really did! But that wasn't the kind of thing you should just blurt out of the blue. It didn't take long for him to disappear within his arms, hiding the entirety of his face in his embarrassment. (From Izuku to Ochaco!!)
Sitting across one another in the lunch room, it had been one of the few times that they had managed to get a table all to themselves. Typically other members of the class were eager to join them, but for an unknown reason to Ochaco, as soon as the bell rang for lunch, the others vanished, excuses dropping from their lips that they had things to take care of instead.
The food at the cafeteria was far too good and inexpensive to pass up, so the choice for her lunch was easy and finding Izuku alone at a table was the perfect choice for her to sit across from him.
Their interaction had gone as simply Ochaco talking about some things that she had planned for training, her mind focusing on that aspect to catch up to the boy before her. Her gaze was intent on him, her smile bright, and the pink cheeks growing ever so slightly in their hue. Talking to him, he seeming entirely interested in what she was saying, all of it made her feel like she was floating. Especially how he seemed to stare into her eyes, the brown optics filled with joy and admiration for the other before her.
Then, those five little words slipped from his lips.
They were soft, and breathed out with complete sincerity, causing her voice to halt entirely in her throat. Ochaco stared at him, her lips trembling as he crumbled, trying to hide away from her, her face filling faster and faster with crimson hue with each flutter of her heart. By the time the entirety of her face had turned as pink as her hero costume, Izuku had hidden away in his arms, obscured from her view.
“D-Deku…!” She managed to beckon to him, reaching out and gently touching his forearm, dipping her head to try and get him to look back up at her. “Y-you…You really think that?” She stumbled the words, her throat tightening with embarrassment and elation mixing all into one inside her chest. But he still wouldn’t peek up at her and Ochaco felt her heart seesawing.
“But, um!” She began, pulling her hand away and holding both of them up in a mild panic. “If it’s too embarrassing to look at them, I can just…” Glancing around, there were no sunglasses or anything to hide away the large round optics. An idea popped in her head and instantly the fingers flew to cover her face almost entirely.
“Then I won’t look! That way we can still talk and you don’t have to think about it? How does that sound, Deku?” She offered, but even so, her head tilted ever so slightly, peeking out from behind the makeshift barrier to look at him, hoping that it cheered him, or at least made him cease his reclusion.
