Heroic Animals #2 - Ruthie

Ruthie works for a company called K-9 Comforts. She’s been a therapy dog available at some of the worst tragedies across the United States and was given the award as the 2016 ASPCA dog of the year. 

Ruthie’s first assignment as a therapy dog was spending six weeks with the children in Newtown after the Sandy Hook Shooting. 

Ruthie has also made stops and comforted people in Orlando, after the nightclub shooting, in Boston after the Boston Marathon Bombing occurred, and in Oklahoma after a series of tornadoes.

Hero Animals #1 -  Pwditat The Cat 

As a dog named Terfel began to age, he started to get cataracts and lose his eyesight. As he lost his eyesight, he started running into things and became scared that he would hurt himself. So he started staying in his dog bed more and more. 

Then one day, a cat showed up at Judy Godfrey-Brown’s house. She said this about that day

“ She just stood there outside my front door and looked at me as to say: ‘I want to be a house cat’,”

When she invited the cat inside he went straight to Terfel. According to the woman the two animals became inseparable. 

Pwditat now acts as the dog’s guide and helps him get around the house and outside with her paws, and the two even sleep together. 

Zoo Officials Were Confused When They Saw What This Elk Was Doing. Then They Were In Awe.

Officials at The Pocatello Zoo in Idaho were confused when they saw this elk spending an unusually long time by the water pail and fussing around with something in its shallow depths. Dr. Joy Fox noticed the big fella, who goes by the name Shooter, and wondered what was up. Shooter kept dipping his head into the water… Environmental Graffiti …taking way longer than he usually did to grab a gulp…
