The Camakau were the medium sized craft of the Deferent Humans, it features a double Hull, one hull smaller than the other and a Single sail. There is often netting between the hulls hanging over the ocean for storage like the N’drua. Then there is the Takia the smallest of the watercraft that didn’t technically have two hulls but instead “cama” or stabilizing float. The Takia were a type of outrigger canoe that was even smaller than the medium sized Camakau. The hull of a Takia was a dugout and they rarely had sails, and did not ever have a centerboard. An oar was used as a rudder. The Takia is open throughout its length like a boat, and had spars to which the cama is secured rests on the gunwale. . . . . Hey #wheeloftime fans you might love this!
