Earthrise/M.C.A Hogarth (Her Instruments #1)-I'm nearly a quarter through which is more than I expected to be because this book is over 600 pages, which I'm still nervous about because I'm always worried with big books that they weren't edited enough and so far with this one I don't see a need yet.
It started out a bit too fanfictiony for my tastes--as in everything happened so fast and I didn't even get used to the characters yet--but I've settled in (it's also slowed down a bit) and am enjoying it, though I doubt it will be a 5-star.
I do really like how the author writes action scenes. It's generally hard for me to get sucked into action scenes in books, but I am in this one.
I also like the worldbuilding. There are all kinds of different aliens. So far, it's not really exploring them except for one and a half, but I hope they will in the future and I appreciate that it's not just humans but slightly different.
