Beautiful petty coats made in to a feature..

I have been lucky enough to have the opportunity to work in a lovely local Vintage shop - Hepwright's Original Vintage owned by the one and only MAMA HEP (that is Catherine Hepwright). I have installed my shop window to promote The Fashion Recycler. The window display is a live installation of what you can expect from this blog. I am really pleased that Catherine who owns and runs Hepwright's was as excited as I was about my idea for the window 'Make do & Spend' The idea being that people are not as inclined to spend money on just any item of clothing (it takes only a second longer of umming and ahhhhing these days) but yet people still buy into quality clothing, what vintage garments provide is quality and individuality. The theme also represents someone like myself who is customising clothes and making do with already owned clothing and adapting them to fit with current trends. I want to thank Catherine for allowing me to use her lovely window to display my live interpretation of my blog. On monday we were set the task of profiling Catherine Wright, owner of Hepwrights vintage shop in Bedford Place, Southampton.We had around an hour to listen to her story and ask any questions, i came from the interview with 10 pages of notes, Catherine was inspirational, and truly passionate about vintage, her excitement when discussing Hepwrights was obvious, this isn't just a job to Catherine, Hepwrights is almost her baby, this is what makes the shop so unique, each piece is selected with heart rather than bulk buying tat, Catherine specially selects the pieces, a true treasure trove of precious pieces Hepwrights is a credit to Catherine and to Southampton.
