Silly episode idea: The Pirate Captain gets Venture Industries to sponsor a pride float. This obviously pisses off The Monarch who thinks it's stupid and performative and thinks Rusty sucks for doing it. Dr Girlfriend checks the Guild rulebook and discovers it classes as a protected event and therefore The Monarch can't arch him at Pride. So he bitches and moans until Dr Girlfriend finds a workaround: The Guild can build a rival float. They sell the idea to The Council as using it for recruitment (I'm sure they have some enemies they want to fight? Look! There's already a bunch of them wearing leather costumes and masks!). Dr girlfriend sends 21 to find some queer Guildies to stand and wave on the float, not knowing a) he's bi himself and b) has completely misunderstood the request and thinks she's trying to set him up with someone which makes him wildly anxious cos he's terrible at talking to all genders and would prefer to just,,, guard the float like a normal henchman.
Meanwhile Hatred is helping Hank and Dean build the VI float and tries to give them the "some people are gay and that's ok" talk, going on a lengthy, aimless rant about the beauty of love. The boys are both trying their best to ignore him and actually assemble a float but disagree because Hank thinks that Batman should be on it "because he's a gay icon". Shenanigans ensue. The Triad are excited to find out that Triana is visiting for Pride and Al tries to teach Orpheus and Jefferson about lesbian culture to prepare them but it's all too high level for Orpheus and he gets confused by all the terminology ("STUDS? PUMPKIN ALREADY HAS MANY OF THOSE ON HER CLOTHES! STRAPS TOO!"). Jefferson gets it immediately cos he has a lesbian aunt and is adopted by a group of sapphic vampire hunters who love his leather jacket, frustrating Orpheus. Dr Girlfriend gets distracted talking with a bunch of trans women and asks for advice about voice training (cue Doc Hammer trying to do a higher pitched/more femme voice good luck) but in the end they all decide that her deep voice is super cute actually.
Rusty thinks Pete and White should man the float "because you're together or whatever" and won't take no for an answer (even though White only has a moped license and Billy can't legally drive because of his vision). Shoreleave is pissed off because he wants to go out and enjoy Pride but Hunter insists he stay on duty whilst secretly sneaking out herself. Shoreleave spies on the various parties from the roof, eventually spotting her and leaving his post to confront her. This is when The Guild float arrives on the scene with Watch and Ward at the helm ("we're totally just allies guys") and the floats immediately a smash hit with the crowd, attracting a large group of kinksters much to the excitement of The Monarch.
Meanwhile Rustys float is also getting a bunch of attention from people arguing over "what a Rusty Venture is" but he's just happy to be the centre of attention (and has even slightly unzipped his speedsuit to show a jaunty single strand of chest hair). The Monarch sees this from his float and gets mad about it and commands 21 to take control of the float and ram the Venture Industries float. A 5mph chase ensues, pushing Billy and Pete's driving abilities to the test. Shoreleave confronts Hunter about her hypocrisy and they have a frank talk about how oppressive the OSI is about standing out and end up becoming better friends and vow to stand up for each other.
Dean spots Triana with Al and Dr Orpheus and dives off the float to talk to her whilst Hank is distracted giving an inspiring speech about "being totally Hank" to a nearby crowd. They talk for a bit and Dean realises he's moved on and just wanted to be more like her. She ends up giving him tips on how to talk to girls, gives him a goth makeover and they decide to become internet pen pals.
Up on the pride float Rusty has finally realised he might be part of a low speed chase as The Monarchs float rear ends his. Everything comes to a head as The Council realises The Monarch is arching Dr Venture at Pride which is totally against the rules! The only way to get out of trouble is to convince The Council that he's not arching Rusty, so he makes a split second decision to awkwardly make out with him in front of everyone, much to Rustys shock (and totally not awakening anything in him).
Post credits scene is Brock in his bootie shorts (who has been notably absent all episode) running into Shoreleave and Hunter at the bar, sitting down with a drink and saying that traffics been a nightmare. Shoreleave announces that he'll be his wingman for the night cos he needs to "catch up" and that he'll be a huge hit. Brock rolls his eyes but doesn't decline.
