i say this because it gives you a very good example of how he would act in a conversation towards a regular ass person who wasn’t involved with the whole osi/guild bubble. he still acts like a sarcastic and petty asshole but he is willing to open up to you once you manage to outsmart him with a speech check. you can get him to admit he’s a total failure who sucks at his job through this.

QPR Brusty is fascinating to me cos like,,, it would have started as a boss/bodyguard relationship during the pregnancy years and then as time passed Rusty would consider Brock his closest friend because he has no one else (and a proven track record of bonding with anyone who listens to him like a baby bird a la Teddy Talk-To-Me). Brock starts to understand Rustys neurosis/trauma and finds comfort in how stable and reliable his shitty personality is. He sees the good in him. When everything around Brock is a constant chaotic nightmare with constantly changing alliances and double crosses and nonsense, Rusty is always just… Rusty. For better or worse. They bring different aspects from each other, Rusty gets Brock to relax and be soft and Brock makes Rusty strive to be a better person.
