Album for the Day!
Hemina - Venus
This is a cool one! So, I recently discovered these guys (and lady!) on Spotify, and it was one of the coolest discoveries in a while. The song in the video, Moonlight Bride, starts with a sweet saxophone solo, which is already a plus in my book, and is mixed-in with some modern metal and jazz. What I love about this song (and the rest of the album) is how it blends djent, jazz, metal, synthesizer, and some amazing early 90′s-style vocals into a very interesting and refreshing experience. Listen at 3:12 to how the flow shifts with the piano chords -- every instrument is playing exactly what it should. The bass and drums complement some cool rhythmic grooves, the guitar is playing a tasteful solo, and the piano carries the direction.
