I am really sad right now. Today my mom and I were driving when we saw a homeless person and a dog. I asked my mom if she had any money since I only had 50 cents. She refused to give him anything because "he is young, he should work if he doesn't want to be homeless" that really upset me. We don't know what he is going through so i told her it didn't matter and that i still wanted to give him something but she came up with another excuse saying he was going to use it for drugs. Well so what? When you give something to someone you cant dictate what they will do with it. Since you give it away it is now legally theirs. But she still refuse and got mad at me because i wanted to give him my lunch. I get her hesitation but a couple of weeks ago i made her promise that if she saw a homeless person she would help them and today she proved to me that even my beautiful mother would rather let someone starve because of how they look rather than help them out. It really is sad how our world and society have come to this. I know there are bigger problems out there but homeless people still matter. Well atleast to me they do.
