Ugh, rude.  Well, since there is no explanation then I deem them Clintasha babies and my word is law. Done.

As for now: No flashbacks, her Red Room past with Bucky is completely ignored. If you’ve watched all trailers and featurettes, you already know that Bucky is HYDRA, not Red Room made, and the only reference Natasha is giving about him is having fought him a few years ago when she was already with S.H.I.E.L.D. (you know that when you’ve read the junior novel, not a big revelation here either). Those two exchange not a single word in the movie.

If you want to go in interpreting territory, he does unsettle her, she’s clearly afraid of him and you can assume, Natasha being Natasha, she won’t tell everything what’s going on in her mind to Steve. But then again, she shows Steve the scar where Bucky shot a hole through her body, so… What the casual movie watcher will see is her facing a capable and very dangerous enemy, whom she knows is able to kill her, but nothing more, I’m afraid.

All in all we see Natasha in a great various share of scenes and her character is well explored, but her Red Room past - if existent at all - hardly comes up. She talks a little to Steve about why she is what she is, and how it was before SHIELD, but nothing really deep.

What very much pleases me though is that we finally get officially confirmed that she’s born 1984 and there’s still not a single sign of any enhancement around. MCU!Natasha =/= comic!Natasha, as I’ve been saying for a while, and I very much like that. She kicks ass without any superpowers and she’s for me the most human, best explored character in the movie, with a full spectrum of drama, humour, flaws, kickass and compassion.

I think that what you achieved with the NCIS/Friends video alone will open you all the doors. Go for it and show them!
