can tumblr stop showing me "based on your likes" posts that i have already liked. yes there is a reason these posts are similar to things i might enjoy. because i have seen them already. and liked them.
i wish we had a mute-but-not-block function. like i don’t hate these people and want to keep them from ever seeing or interacting with me. i just don’t want to see their annoying posts when i go into the tag. why can’t i do that.

Yes, this is about the ‘reveling information’ that came out of that woman blowing the whistle on Facebook and Instagram. It’s also about Twitter’s ‘enemy of the day’. And so many other things.
People don’t even know that there are communities that you can create for yourselves. Or places where hearing about ‘the discourse’ is avoidable.
Tumblr is not without all it’s many, many flaws. But it’s our place. It’s the hellsite (affectionate) because it’s better than pretty much everywhere else that you can find people.
And while I do occasionally like the jokes about how nobody from certain sites should migrate here, I prefer people learning and think it would be better than gatekeeping.
