The city bustled with life beneath Margaret’s feet, her scarred blind eyes glued to the window of the debriefing room with her back facing the door, waiting to hear the Avengers themselves walk through the double doors. Long dark hair was pulled back in a high bun, a formal suit adorning the physically toned doctor, eyes picking up on the glistening blue soul of a bird soaring through the air beside the windows, making the doctor smile.

“Just what the hell is the point of having this kid here? He will be a distraction to the team and will only get in the way,” remarked Tony bluntly, hands tucked into his pockets, wearing a simple t-shirt with nice jeans.

“The doctor was hand-picked by Fury for a reason, Tony. They wouldn’t be here if they couldn’t take care of themselves or be of use to us,” retorted Natasha as Tony simply gave a groan, rolling his eyes at the idea that anyone could be up to par to be marked a ‘substitute’ Avenger in one of their absences.
