I Saw The Bright Shinies :: The Octopus Project
The Octopus Project - I Saw The Bright Shinies
All I know by them is their album "Hello, Avalanche" but I like it. The whole electronic ambient thing seems pretty common these days but its really interesting to hear a bands interpretation of it as opposed to the usual lone producer. Although they aren't just an ambient group so I don't know if I should say that. They definitely do have heavy ambient influences but in the end I would still call it a rock album and them a rock band. Especially with songs like Truck. I think these guys are a great example of how the band format leads to a lot more interesting music. I mean I love a lot of music by solo artists but I find I'm impressed more often by music that comes from bands and you can see why in an album like this. You can definitely tell most of these songs were written to be played live. Yeah I've listened to this album a few times before and I always liked it but for some reason I'm really enjoying it a lot more right now.
Man that was longer than I expected it to be.
