I like to blame Baldr's death on the Aesir as a whole. Because my favourite is the one where they all get together to throw shit at him.. And then just assume that bad things aren't going to come of it? So, yeah, I blame a whole pantheon instead of one or two.

((Why yes, Höðr does mean a lot to me. <3 I wanted to share this with you all. This is a gorgeous horn made for me on commission by a craftsperson on Etsy; she was the perfect choice for SO many reasons. We designed it together. The second pic shows Höðr's name in runes carved into the actual horn (which is big...) along with mistletoe sprigs. The runes are Hagalaz, hail, the controlled chaos that leads to harmony; Othila, ancestral property and inheritance, that which holds one's spiritual heritage; Dagaz, dawn, the breakthrough or awakening, growth and release; and Raido, the wagon, harbinger of travel, journeys both physical and spiritual, the Dance of Life. The green leather bands slip off and are used to carry the horn. Carved into the bands are some Ravens of Odin, and these words: "heilsá er kvað, heilsá er kann (Hail to the speaker, hail to the one who understands)". This is Verse 164 of the Hávamál. Thank you so much. Tbh I just lost my aunt (not his mom) to the EXACT SAME CANCER earlier this year so I'm pretty sure this is the last time I will see him. I just want to let him know how much I love him. If he wasn't sick I would skip the 14 hour drive and the whole unpleasantness since my grandma passed and there's no pressing reason for me to have to go home and deal with my past abuser anymore. Esp. since I'm still dealing with the aftereffects of a recent triggering incident. *sigh* But I have to do it for Matt. Because I never got to tell Anna how I felt about her and it still makes me cry.
