So I've just heard of this thing where 33 is called your "Jesus year" because that is the age when supposedly that fictional Jesus of Nazareth character was killed by Voldemort or something. Hm. I just turned 33.
Apparently, you're supposed to evaluate your life and see where you've been and where you are going and blahbitty blah blah. Because, as life-changing as turning 30 can be for some, you just don't quite get it until you turn 33.
Well I am happy to report that I figured it out when I turned 30 (you jelly, Jesus?). My life motto is "don't sweat the small stuff" and yes that probably sounds over simplified but I am telling you, once you are able to let go of all the little shit that just really doesn't matter, life is just flat-out enjoyable. For serious.
Might I lose my job? Yes. Would it be the end of the world? No. I've lost jobs before, and it totally sucked, and you know what? I'm not dead!
I could eat pizza for every meal every day of my life. Might I get fat? Yes. Does it matter? No! You wanna know why? Because NEWSFLASH you only have one life and one body to do with what you will, so why not fucking enjoy yourself? And maybe you enjoy exercising a lot and being super fit and that's okay too!
The point is, don't live your life for someone else. Unless you find someone else you want to live for, I guess.
