Edwin Jarvis for the character ask! <3
First impression
I honestly don't remember my first impression of him when I watched AC in '15; I was one of those people who watched the show just for Peggy back then. When I started rewatching I do think he seemed pretty intriguing. He has an edge and a past that he hides well and I like that, and it plays really well with the noir style of S1. I like it.
Impression now
I still think he's a pretty solid character. I think S2 did him a bit of injustice (more on that later), but ultimately he's a good character. He's also one of the few characters that's very steadfast, very straigtfoward, very unabashedly devoted to his wife, and I think that's neat.
Favorite moment
When he gets interrogated in S01E03. I think that scene really shows the depth and complexity of Jarvis himself. The way he handles the needling, the retorts, and you see strong principles underneath a veneer of calm, it's fascinating. Literal best Jarvis scene in the whole of Agent Carter.
Idea for a story
my brother in fandom i do not know how to write him ><
Unpopular opinion
I feel like Jarvis gets turned into a punchline far too often. The 'can everyone please stop shooting' line in S1, the tortoise of fury in early S2, leading Manfredi into the Stark Mansion with his hands (and a jar of mustard) in the air. Like, other characters have had somewhat funny moments, but I feel like Jarvis /is/ the punchline and I don't think that's doing his character much justice. Also...when everyone's somewhat serious, those moments really jerk me out of the story? Idk if that makes sense.
Favorite relationship
I have no opinion on this. He's very happy with Ana. That's cool that's sweet.
Favorite headcanon
I'm not particularly aware of any headcanon of him? And I don't either? I'm struggling help.
