“Junpei, no.”

“You mustn’t burn, here let me help you!” Akane determinedly picked up the bottle of sunscreen off the towel. “I also get burnt pretty easily, so I’ll make sure to get you real good!”

Pretty easy.

It had taken him a bit to find this place, but it was worth it in the end. The cafe itself was well done and modeled, he’d have to find Clover later and tell her how good a job she’d done. For now, he decided to just sit in a corner table and blend in with the crowd, happy to just listen to the music and read articles on his phone. He didn’t want to interrupt anyone at work after all.

When it got later and people started to filter out, clearly the place was gonna close soon, that’s when he decided to approach Light over at his harp. Admittedly part of waiting until he spoke to him was that he felt bad about disappearing so suddenly, and wasn’t entirely sure the other man wanted to know he was back. It could have been forever since he was gone---maybe he’d just be pissed off at him (he deserved that, honestly).

Still, he couldn’t just get back and pretend he wasn’t there.

“You know I never did get to hear you play harp until now, you’re really good at it.”

{🍀} How much time had Clover spent running, now? God, she didn’t know- her lungs hurt with each breath, still trying to outmatch these seemingly invisible pursuers who clearly had no intention of letting up. 

‘Why do you keep running? I’ll admit, I’m not a very patient man.’

The voice of the person who’d interrogated her at the Free the Soul headquarters seemed to come from around the corner, making Clover only pick up speed. She set off in a dead sprint, only to run into someone at full force.

“Please allow me in the safety cube that blocks the sinners.”

“I am a [Snake] of sorts, I suppose. Although I, like most snakes, do not have a paw.”

The days seemed to go by quite a bit faster than he’d thought---though that sort of happens when you sleep for about a month, give or take. He’d wound up missing Christmas and while he ensured a gift was sent anyway, he still felt pretty bad about it. It was stupid to be asleep for a holiday like that. At least he was awake this time. He really would kick himself in the ass if he missed it.

Walking around the city, he knew it was probably easier and faster to just text or call Light, but at the same time he sort of wanted to surprise him. Though if the other could see it would definitely be a surprise---he sort of looked like a delivery girl for valentines right now. Not a bad look but he hoped he wasn’t mistaken for one.

After walking around aimlessly for a while, he finally caught a glimpse of his boyfriend. He had to do a double take for a moment due to what the other was wearing, but it was him alright. Grinning ear to ear, he made his way over to him, being as quiet as he could.

“I hope Clover has shown you what you look like in that outfit, because it’s very good,” he said as he approached, giving him a hug from behind.
