“I already tried doing that,” Joker breezily informed the young girl. “We ended up disagreeing on that point, so I drove the point of a knife into his eye. Haha! But you know, I’m thinking of going into the field of journalism myself. Or do you think I’d be better driving people mad by taking over the agony aunt column?”

It was quite an annoyance. Having expected to come in and be able to continue his research only to be told they had a different assignment for him. Not an assignment for him, per say. But for one of the interns. One that he would be having to supervise. Guide on their research. Something he did not look forward to doing. He'd never been the social type. He enjoyed his solitude. Solitude provided focus. Which aided in his research. Patients he could deal with to a point. But students? Interns? Co-workers? He didn't much enjoy dealing with them. Didn't like dealing with their judgement. Their questions. But more than anything, he did not like suffering through their ignorance. Their lack of understanding.
Regardless, he wouldn't argue with their decision. He was probably the only one qualified. Well, there were others, but none as exceptional as he was. He was top of his field. Anyone under him would likely either rise in their intellectual standing or end up dropping the internship completely.
So despite his reluctance, he made his way toward his office, where he knew they'd be waiting. His shadow. However, upon arrival, he found himself finding himself a bit more interested than he previously expected.
❝Well this is certainly unexpected.❞

(( Matt stood at the cross walk, waiting for the traffic to halt before crossing. It was hard to pay attention to the exhaust clouded streets when the women next to him smelled so strongly of sweet flowers. If there was one thing that could be more distracting than a airplane with a hundred elevated heart beats, it was have to be the scent of flowers.
Roses, carnations, Callas, daffodils, coxcombs and orchids. And those were the only ones he could name. Matt found himself trying to picture to field and fresh air that such flowers must have grown in. He was snapped out of thought by a grip placed around his arm. “uh, yeah?” ))
“--d’you do these yourself?”
