I honestly have no clue what we’re going to do when my boyfriend and I get married. 

ummm…

For one, he doesn't have the same beliefs that I do. Jeremy’s a spiritual agnostic and I’m obviously Heathen. I would want a Heathen handfasting ceremony but that involves the couple taking an oath before the Gods and I don’t really know how he would feel about doing that, with him not being a worshiper like I am and all. 

I’m not going to make him do anything that he doesn't want to of course. The differences in our beliefs have never been a problem for us before, so I don’t really think they should be a problem with our wedding, at least I hope so.

Like I said, I’m not going to make him do anything that he doesn't want to do….but I kind of really do want a formal Heathen ceremony. I think Jeremy would be fine with it, but what about the person/persons performing the ceremony for us? Well, that’s a whole other kettle of fish….

Would they be ok with marrying a couple when the groom isn't even Heathen? AND there’s the issue that I honor Loki and I'm planning on taking an oath to Him eventually, when most of the Heathen community considers Him a taboo and shuns those who honor Him. I almost feel like we’re gonna meet with them to plan the wedding, they’ll see my Loki pendant and just “NOPE” the fuck out of there and refuse to have anything to do with me and Jeremy. 

And hey if that happened, I wouldn't want them to marry me anyway. If I'm gonna get married by someone they better at least have some respect for my God. But I’d eventually need to find someone who fits that description…ugh.

Oh and did I mention Jeremy’s family is really Christian? Yeah, I don’t know how they would feel about their son’s wedding being a Heathen ceremony….

They’re not fanatical jerks about their religion or anything, but they used to not let Jer or his siblings watch Harry Potter because “omg witchcraft!” And they have no clue their future daughter-in-law is a Heathen and witch-in-the-making, haha.
