All his life, he’d been brought up in the ways of his people, to serve his people, that was true -- but by that same principle, he was more than prepared, instinctually, to do so.

he had enough time, energy, mental and physical resources to care for others, too -- and even if he didn’t, he had the will in order to make all of these things.

it was hard to put into words, this---- caring notion he had, not just for kairi, naminé, lea, but for sora, now, too -- perhaps a little bit more so. but that was something else to think about later. ---- well ; so long as his mouth didn’t run away with him.

but to see such a lack of self-caring, self-confidence---- it was both heartwarming and heartbreaking. sora was so incredibly special, didn’t he see that? not just in that he was an heir, but just in general. the sea shone brightly in his eyes, dragging people in with his splendour---- it showed the sea’s favour of him, something not gifted to many.

“i like to think i’m capable of doing both,”

and besides, in the grand scheme of things, he’d always been taught to put his people before himself - such a thing is also as instinctual as breathing. his kingdom, his friends, sora, would always come first - and perhaps not necessarily in that order, sometimes.

his grip on sora’s hands did tighten, just a little bit ; and his fins flickered, minute, perhaps not even noticed, fingers moving to intertwine with Sora’s own, chest heaving an exhale,

“and even if they don’t need you---- maybe I do.”

          ‘    LOOKS   LIKE   I   WIN   AGAIN.    ’

  his cheeks are like little hamster cheeks. could anyone blame him for poking them ? sora could.

“ huh? ”

it wasn’t every day he was going to get some good ol’ pets either. but..this isn’t an attack so.

  “ what’s goin’ on? ”

                    ✣ 「 ヴェン」 ❦❧ ─  Smiling. Beaming with all of his sunshine brightness at the Chosen one, Ventus couldn’t help it. He is   R e a l , they could really face to face physically --not just connect by hearts-- that was why he was so happy. “I’m just happy, I guess to finally meet you.” Poking onto Sora’s cheek once more, adding some of that gentle petting --hands that went through so much were giving gentle touches-- it was his way of expressing affection. 

            “You were... so small back then, look at you now, all big and grown up,” grinning widely, if not, slightly goofy. Then again, the blond remains slightly taller than the brunet, with his own time frozen several times, he still needed more adapting to time and grow to fully. “And saving the world, saving us. I don’t know how to say thank you, Sora. Or maybe I can take you out and treat you to some ice cream? Or whatever your favorite food. Places?”
