Food Adventure | The Energy Kitchen
Hi all ~
Thatās a big bowl of salad up there. Literally as big as my head. I LOVE SALAD.
How about you?
In this post, Iām going to talk about my old meās healthy food obsession and Wu Chunās The Energy Kitchen based in Kiulap!
In 2014, when I thought I wasnāt going through anymore phases but simply a way of life, though I thought wrong as it eventually ended as another phase; I was a vegetarian for almost a year (vegan for a month LOL) and a healthy eating freak...NO JOKE.
Superfood and healthy life style were trending for a while, and The Energy Kitchen was just starting out at that time. When I came back to Brunei for my first year end of semester break, this restaurant immediately went on myĀ āplaces to eat in Brunei as soon as get backā list. Banar.
The Food
is ok -- as healthy as it can be. They taste clean and definitely no MSG added. The greens are almost raw and their mango chia pudding is amazeballz -- I mean come on, itās chia pudding!
But if youāre a traditional person who can not even eat a snackĀ with no familiar taste -- you wonāt like the food. But if youāre a health freak or a person who doesnāt care what goes into their stomach as long as youāre able to taste anything the world throws at you -- youāll most likely enjoy the ingredients they put in their food!
Here Iām showing pictures from two of my memorable lunch stops:
The very first picture above I believe is their superfood salad bowl but itās a medley of avocado and broccoli and nuts and seeds and quinoa. They even serve you with a piece of wholewheat bread like tumpi but healthier.
Then thereās three pieces of tofu summer rolls with the tastiest cashew sauce dip! Highly recommend that oneĀ š
And that dish with promegranate I believe is...em.. chicken with a coleslaw-like sauce...cooked healthily...might even be grilled...with eggplants...I did not have that as I was still a vegetarian at that time.
I remember after those meals, Waāie was actually still hungry (he did not really like his meal because the portion was sikit and the price was mahalĀ haha), we went to Excapade for round twoĀ š
After going back to a meat eating life style (though not always), we went back again to taste some more healthy cooked meat! I had this chicken noodle with satay dip (canāt recall what itās called) and Waāie had Thai Green Curry. Again -- they taste clean. My noodle was OK price wise and portion wise (it was a lot of noodlez...too much actually haha) but that green curry was just not satisfying in my opinion.
What I really appreciate about this restaurant is that despite its expensive menu, they serve you cucumber infused water for free!
Mwah brown rice!
Thanks for reading loves.
Love, Lisa
